When attractive Will Strait comes to teach at Evard College, the close-knit community of the isolated university campus welcomes him with open arms. But Clair Sailor, whose husband Nick was responsible for employing Strait, senses something wrong. As her friends desert her, as her children are ostracized, and a series of increasingly frightening accidents begins to plague her family, Clair is convinced Strait is to blame.
